Employee stories: Tiby QA Engineer: Love of precision, details and electronics

Good morning. As a QA Engineer at Microavia, my primary responsibility is to perform test planning and execution, identify defects, develop testing documentation and ensure continuous improvement to our QA cycles. I ensure that all components meet the required standards and approve them for integration into our products. It involves performing visual inspections initially, followed by programming tests and functional testing. Some components also undergo varnishing before going through the same testing cycle. It's a meticulous process, but each component gets thoroughly checked.
Since Microavia has full-cycle manufacturing in-house, there is a lot for our team to test and check, as we have complete responsibility for the quality and safety of our drones.

Certainly. I have a Master's in Electronics Engineering from @Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology, specializing in VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) and embedded systems. My Bachelor's degree is in Electronics and Communication from @Caarmel Engineering College. My educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in electronics, and I find the field particularly intriguing, especially when it comes to working with smaller components.

Initially, I started as a design engineer. However, I found my true passion in working closely with electronics. One of the most incredible projects I worked on was focused on submarine electronics design, specifically designing a fault detection system for faulty sensors on submerged submarines. It is an excellent example of a system that no one knows exists but is crucial for the safety of the submarine and everyone on board.

I decided to move to Dubai in 2019, and my family also settled here. It is a great place, and considering that almost 40% of Dubai's population is Indian (est 4M people), this place is like back home. During my time in Dubai, I also met my husband and had my lovely daughter. But of course, I still miss India, so we visit it from time to time.

I absolutely love Dubai for its multicultural aspects. The city is a melting pot of different nationalities, and I enjoy the diverse population and the variety it brings. There are so many people from different backgrounds, and it creates a vibrant and dynamic environment.

The most rewarding aspect of my work at Microavia is the opportunity to spend the entire day working with my favorite toys, which are electronics. It may sound monotonous to some, but I genuinely love what I do. Being able to contribute to developing high-quality products and ensuring their reliability brings me immense satisfaction. Every product I test and screen gets my little green seal of approval, and every seal is a small achievement for the team and me. Some might call it instant gratification.

In my free time, I love cooking, especially traditional Indian dishes. One of my favorite dishes to cook is Poha, a popular Indian breakfast dish made with rice flakes. I love preparing and sharing with my family for breakfast now and then, as it takes only about 15-20 minutes to prepare.
