Head of Manufacturing

Job Overview:

Microavia is seeking a Head of Manufacturing to provide strategic oversight and direction to our manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering production and will be responsible for defining workflows, managing quality control, ensuring a safe work environment, fostering staff development, launching new products, controlling the procurement process, maintaining production equipment, and defining key objectives using the OKR framework.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage manufacturing plans, line layouts, fixtures, and equipment with progressively refined estimates of labor, costs, and productivity.
• Manufacture stands and toolings in liaison with the R&D and mechanical engineering
• Oversee quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of product quality.
• Establish and maintain a healthy and safe work environment in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate ongoing staff development and training programs.
• Coordinate the successful launch of newly developed products.
• Manage the procurement process efficiently, balancing speed of procurement with budget considerations.
• Maintain production equipment and tools in optimal working order.
• Define and track objectives and key results (OKRs) for continuous process improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Report directly to the CEO and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field such as Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as the head of manufacturing in an engineering company.
• Strong knowledge in mechanics and electromechanics fields.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly CETEK.
• Experience with Solidworks or any other CAD/CAE packages is a plus
• Understanding and experience with the OKR framework.
• Proven experience in building manufacturing operations from scratch
• Experience in managing and maintaining manufacturing-related documentation, including standard operating procedures, quality control plans, and equipment maintenance records.
• Startup experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and motivate a multinational team.
